Sunday May 20th is the date for the 2012 Highland Games and Country Fair and will be open to visitors from 11.00am – 17.00 with a full programme of new and existing events to enjoy; all compered by legendary heavy eventer Hamish Davidson. Additional parking areas have been establised to give greater access to the arena, exhibition areas, highland dancing and other events as well as to stalls for visitors to browse and buy. New for 2012 will the Gordon Castle 10k race, organised by Spey Runners, Dramatic Air Display, Solo Piping Competition and lots more.
The 10k race will be started at the official opening of the Highland Games and Country Fair at 12 noon in the arena. The route takes runners through the Castle grounds and then on into the woodland trails close by. It is a challenging race and prizes will be awarded to a number of different categories.
