Salmon and Sea Trout Fishing

The River Spey is one of the “big four” Scottish salmon rivers and the Gordon Castle and Brae Water beats are amongst the most famous in the World. Spread over eight miles, the eight beats of double bank salmon fishing are together probably the largest and most prolific salmon fishery in Britain.

Each Beat has its own ghillie and is fished by between three and six rods, with most beats being for six rods. Fishing is with fly only, and a largely catch and release policy for salmon and sea trout is in force.

Roe Stalking

The Spey Valley is ideal habitat for roe deer. The local climate, abundance of good food and ground cover encourage healthy body weights and antler development. Accompanied roe deer stalking is available by arrangement on the Gordon Castle Estate as part of the estate deer management plan. Good trophy heads are often seen and the ground offers challenging stalking in beautiful countryside. For further details, contact the Estate Office

Shooting

There are some excellent local shoots and Grouse shooting can also be sourced.  For those wishing to hone their shooting skills excellent tuition and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged.
