ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

The Roov

Establishing themselves in 2018 as a pop/disco outfit, The Roov have been causing a funky stir in Scotland and beyond. Playing to sell out venues across Scotland, particularly in the Highlands, Aberdeen and Dundee. With a rapidly expanding fan base throughout Scotland it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the UK gets into their groove..

In August 2018, the band released the single ‘You Wanna Be Like Me’ which has become a live show sensation and sent The Roov into a different league. The single also caught the attention of BBC Radio Scotland presenter Janice Forsyth who thought it was “MAGIC!” and the tune became Radio Scotland's single of the week.

Their first 2019 release, ‘Workin’ On U’, an up-beat pop number was included on Universal Music’s “Future Hits” spotify playlist also featuring Ariana Grande and Madonna. Shortly after this release they played a sell out home-town show supported by Toploader known for their cover of “Dancing In The Moonlight”.

2019 also saw them make quite an impression on those at Belladrum Tartan Heart festival. They played the Seedlings Stage previously in 2018 to a packed tent, but just a year later the overspill of people surrounding the same tent to see them was extraordinary. Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr who headlined the Friday night said “They must be fucking good ‘cause that’s all I’ve heard about”. Not only was their single “You Wanna Be Like Me” named as the festivals featured song of 2019, The Roov have been announced for the main stage 2020 alongside Nile Rodgers and CHIC. 2020 certainly looks like it’s year of The Roov and as a new decade dawns: their latest single “Girlfriend” has set their tone for a foot-stomping year. Disco’s back and it has never looked this good.

Dougal's Jumper

Bringing together Scottish smallpipes and bagpipes, fiddle, accordion, guitar, mandolin, bass guitar and vocals, Dougal's Jumper manage to fashion their own brand of cosy Celtic pop. Let Dougal’s Jumper wrap you up in their infectious mix of their own songs and some foot-stomping tunes.

Other performances have included the Speyside Whisky Festival, live sessions as the house band for Moray Firth Radio's breakfast show and various beer and gin festivals.

Dougal's Jumper are rapidly gaining a reputation for their energetic and entertaining performances and make it their business to get the crowd joining in during their show. Since forming in 2016, Dougal's Jumper's music has been played on radio stations from Fort William to Hawaii and many places in between.

Dougal's members have played at many different events including T in the Park, Celtic Connections, the Tall Ships festivals and the Carrickfergus Waterfront Festival. Other U.K. venues have included The Halfmoon and Kashmir Klub (London), King Tut’s (Glasgow) and The Music Hall and The Lemon Tree (Aberdeen).
