The Gordon Castle shoot covers 4,000 acres and is rich with wild game and wildfowl, and offers an experience like no other.

The Estate offers only six long weekends during November, December and January, which comprise four nights in the Castle and three days of shooting for eight guns (and partners) as follows:

Arrive on Wednesday evening.
A slap-up dinner and all-inclusive hospitality for your stay. Try to control your excitement.

Day one: Thursday.
A flighting day. Duck (maybe geese) in the morning and evening. Pigeons in the middle of the day. (Alternatively, a “species day” instead of the pigeons if they are not playing the game). Expected bag 30-60 head. In time, perhaps some grey partridges over pointers. Talk about just how many cartridges per flighty duck you needed

Day Two: Friday.
An old-fashioned wild bird walked up / rough day. Expected bag 30-60. Luxury picnic lunch in one of our many cabins/fishing huts. Have you ever experienced anything like it?

Day Three: Saturday.
A driven day of fabulous flying birds. Expected bag 100-150. Is there a more beautiful place to have shot?…. And as for those dogs picking up birds from the fast-flowing River Spey. Amazing.

Depart on Sunday.
Must we say goodbye?

All hospitality is included, and entertainment for the evenings may, at extra cost, include a whisky tasting, a Ceilidh, a Scottish dancing exhibition or a foraging/cookery demonstration.

We are currently taking bookings for the 2024 /25 season. Please contact The Factor at for enquiries and availability.

The Estate has a large stock of Roe deer. Bucks can be shot between the 1st of April and the 20th of October. Does can be shot from the 21st of October to the 31st March.

We can accommodate 2 “Rifles” on the ground for both an early morning and an evening stalk. Stalkers usually come for a week or half a week and stay in one of our luxury cottages.
