Kennels Lodge

Kennels Lodge is a newly re-modelled property which has transformed two adjoined houses into one seven bedroom lodge house.

The Lodge was originally the kennel keepers houses and work rooms for the Gordon Castle dogs.  It’s historically important as the place the Gordon Setter was first bred.  It is partially for this reason and partly due to the rare use of red sandstone in their construction that the Lodge is a Grade 1 listed building.

The new lodge will have seven double or twin bedrooms (all but 1 is en suite, but that one has its own dedicated bathroom), of the seven bedrooms, one has its own external door which would afford a degree of privacy to a chef or au-pair.  The house will have a large living room, a small living room and a large conservatory dining room which will seat up to 14. The kitchen, drying room and utility room are equipped to support up to 14 guests.

Kennels Lodge is situated in a large forest and has extensive area for walking and exploring.  It also has a generous, dog proof front garden.  The house has good internet connectivity and is close to the Gordon Castle Walled Garden and to the Gordon Castle fishings.  The property also has ample parking.

Below is the architect's drawing for the completed lodge.
